Job Summary:
As an Echo and Vascular Ultrasound Technologist, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional non-invasive diagnostic ultrasound examinations, specifically focusing on echocardiography and vascular studies. This position is integral in assisting physicians with the evaluation and diagnosis of cardiovascular and vascular conditions, while ensuring the highest standards of patient care and compliance with established protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
· Perform a variety of echocardiographic procedures including 2D, 3D, contrast-enhanced, and strain imaging, along with M-mode, Doppler, and color flow studies, adhering to physician orders and established protocols.
· Conduct comprehensive vascular ultrasound examinations including arterial, venous, carotid, and peripheral studies.
· Prepare patients for procedures by thoroughly explaining examinations, reviewing clinical histories, and positioning them appropriately.
· Capture accurate diagnostic images, Doppler waveforms, and measurements in line with departmental and physician-approved protocols.
· Assess anatomical structures, hemodynamics, and pathology; identify normal and abnormal findings, and effectively communicate significant observations to interpreting physicians.
· Document exam findings accurately and promptly, ensuring reports are completed in PACS/RIS and EMR systems.
· Ensure equipment functionality through routine quality control checks and prompt reporting of any issues.
· Adhere to infection control, patient safety, HIPAA, and regulatory standards consistently.
· Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and clinical teams to provide outstanding patient care.
· Engage in quality improvement initiatives and pursue continuing education to maintain competencies and credentials.
· Assist in training, mentoring, and validating the competencies of new staff or students as required.
· Keep up-to-date with professional certifications and fulfill ongoing competency requirements.
