JOB SUMMARY:
The Senior Field Service Engineer specializing in Rotary UPS Systems will focus on rotary uninterruptible power supply (UPS) distribution systems, mechanical integration, generator systems, and preventative maintenance protocols. This role demands advanced technical skills, mechanical proficiency, and robust field experience with electrical control systems and rotating equipment, such as generators and flywheels. Exceptional troubleshooting abilities and a dedication to providing high-performance power solutions in environments like data centers, hospitals, industrial sites, and utility-scale operations are crucial.
This position differs from traditional UPS engineering roles, as familiarity with static UPS systems may not be beneficial. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience with mechanical systems and rotary equipment, confidently commissioning complex power systems in the field. As the primary expert, you will oversee the deployment of large-scale RUPS systems, resolve technical challenges, and provide training to others. Additionally, you will deliver technical support for software and hardware issues on-site across North America, performing start-ups, retrofits, and maintenance. This role will require close collaboration with IEM's cross-functional teams to integrate current and emerging technologies, commission intricate generator and RUPS systems, optimize existing power infrastructure, and ensure smooth operation of our power products according to the specified design and sequence of operations (SOO). You will also be the main contact for all field service personnel regarding RUPS startup, generator assistance, preventative maintenance, 24/7 emergency response, and remote technical support.
