Role overview
This back-end engineer position on the Product Engineering team centers on developing and improving Coupang Pay's fintech services. The role involves maintaining the reliability of Coupay, the company's one-touch payment system, and ensuring seamless payment experiences for millions of users. Collaboration with accounting, finance, and fintech development teams is a key part of strengthening back-office capabilities.
What you will do
- Design, develop, and maintain back-end systems for both new and existing fintech products.
- Conduct code reviews and help uphold high coding standards.
- Advance and support Coupay to ensure stable and efficient operation at scale.
- Work with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable and fast payment experiences.
Requirements
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in back-end development.
- Experience with distributed systems using Java and Spring Framework.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach.
- Interest in customer service and business growth.
- Motivation to continue growing as a developer.
Preferred qualifications
- In-depth knowledge of JPA and microservices architecture (MSA).
- Experience in the payment industry.
- Background with large-scale operational systems, including fault management and monitoring.
- Familiarity with Agile software development practices.
- Experience handling large data throughput.
