Join our dynamic team at AJWalter Aviation in Sofia as an Aircraft Repair Cost Engineer. Reporting to the Head of Technical Services, you will play a pivotal role within our Technical and Compliance Team, ensuring the highest standards of maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) for aircraft components.
As a Repair Cost Engineer, you will leverage your expertise to optimize repair costs while maintaining technical integrity. Collaborating closely with Value Engineers, Technical Services, Procurement, and external repair vendors, your responsibilities will include scrutinizing repair costs, evaluating technical and commercial data, and facilitating informed decisions regarding repair, replacement, and market value assessments.
Key Responsibilities:
Evaluate repair costs and deliver actionable commercial insights (repair vs replace, BER, market value).
Assess supplier quotations, teardown results, and repair scopes thoroughly.
Assist in cost modeling and should-cost analysis in collaboration with Value Engineering.
Contribute to strategic decisions regarding repair, overhaul, scrap, exchange, and alternative sourcing.
Analyze the effects of modifications, reliability trends, and repair process changes.
Challenge supplier pricing and support negotiations with data-driven insights.
Identify and implement opportunities for cost reduction and enhanced value outcomes.
Participate in supplier performance evaluations and contract assessments.
Monitor repair cost performance, pinpointing trends, risks, and discrepancies.
Provide critical data and insights to support strategic decision-making.
Drive process improvements and optimize the use of systems, data, and automation tools.
