Each Senior Supplier Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring that suppliers meet ISI standards for product quality, cost efficiency, and service excellence.Essential Job DutiesLead Part Qualification activities for Supply Chain Engineering initiativesCollaborate with Core Product Teams to define effective manufacturing methods for metal commodities at supplier locations.Develop manufacturing processes, testing, and inspection protocols prior to part qualification.Provide Line Support for ManufacturingEvaluate and prioritize component-related issues.Oversee the disposition of non-conforming materials and address significant non-conformances through formal corrective actions.Drive corrective action initiatives using Root Cause Analysis tools (8D, 5 Whys, etc.), identifying true root causes and implementing effective corrective and preventive measures.Lead Manufacturing Process SelectionDetermine the most suitable manufacturing processes for parts, taking into account process quality, long-term capacity, and total lifecycle costs.Identify opportunities for Design for Manufacturability (DFM) to enhance quality, reduce costs, or improve supply chain capacity.Educate internal stakeholders and suppliers on supplier quality, process capabilities, and best manufacturing practices for key supplier processes.
