Oversee metadata management, including the business glossary, metadata standards, and data lineage for essential datasets. Define and enforce standards for data lifecycle management, covering data retention, archival, and disposal. Work with data teams to establish data quality metrics, monitor Critical Data Elements (CDEs), and lead remediation and issue resolution efforts. Ensure governance practices comply with regulatory requirements (such as APRA CPS230, CPS234, Privacy Act, CDR) and integrate these into daily operations. Manage data-related risks, aligning governance controls with the broader enterprise risk management and information security frameworks. Promote continuous improvement by equipping Data Stewards with tools, training, and guidance. Embed data governance into enterprise platforms and tools (such as Snowflake), as well as across projects, change initiatives, and business-as-usual activities.
