Role Overview: In this position, you will manage Oscar's forecasting, valuation, and pricing processes across various Affordable Care Act (ACA) markets. Your responsibilities will include the regular maintenance and review of actuarial models to assist in developing pricing strategies, forecasting trends, Incurred but not Reported (IBNR) projections, and risk adjustment accruals. You will report directly to the Manager of Actuarial. Work Location: This role is based in Tempe, AZ, with a hybrid work schedule requiring three days in the office each week. Thursdays are mandatory in-office days for team collaboration and meetings, while the other two office days are flexible. Pay Transparency: The annual salary for this position ranges from $65,520 to $85,995. Employees are also eligible for benefits, participation in Oscar's unlimited vacation program, and annual performance bonuses. Key Responsibilities: Maintain core pricing and plan design models, ensuring consistency across team users. Contribute significantly to the development and submission of regulatory filings and provide strategic pricing recommendations. Develop recommendations for the accrual setting process concerning IBNR claims, Risk Adjustment, and Shared Savings initiatives. Identify and analyze meaningful observations across various plan designs, providers, vendors, and markets. Promote and implement best practices for automation and documentation within Oscar's actuarial functions. Foster strong relationships and communication channels with all stakeholders. Assist in onboarding new analysts by integrating them into existing processes. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field. Successful completion of at least two actuarial exams. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a related field. Bonus Skills: Experience with health insurance concepts and practices.
