Role overview The Senior Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) Engineer plays a central role in developing, producing, and supporting high-performance GNC and Attitude Determination and Control (ADC) systems for BlackSky’s satellite constellations. This hybrid position is located in Tukwila, WA, and reports to the GNC Engineering Manager. What you will do Lead and participate in trade studies, simulations, and analyses to design, develop, and verify Attitude Determination and Control Systems (ADCS). Work directly with software engineers to integrate ADCS components into flight software. Develop test plans and procedures to support satellite production. Validate satellite flight readiness through thorough testing and analysis. Collaborate with satellite operators to enhance on-orbit ADCS performance. Work alongside a skilled technical team to deliver advanced satellite solutions. Location and work arrangement This role is hybrid and based in Tukwila, WA.

In the role of Senior Structural Analysis Engineer at BlackSky, you will play a crucial part in the development, verification, and testing of our satellite systems and associated hardware. You will construct finite element models for space hardware, encompassing electromechanical devices, deployed and stowed appendages, fully integrated satellites, and ground support equipment. Your analytical expertise will be instrumental in assessing environments and structural performance to determine the flightworthiness of satellite designs down to component assembly levels. Engaging actively in testing processes, you will generate test procedures, conduct pre-test analyses, determine instrumentation placements, execute testing, and correlate post-test models. Collaboration with satellite operators and launch service providers will ensure design compatibility with launch loads while producing and submitting verification artifacts. This dynamic role requires you to work within a highly skilled technical team dedicated to producing state-of-the-art satellites. This position reports to the Director of Mechanical Engineering and offers a hybrid work model based in our Tukwila, WA office.
