Role Overview The Commercial HVAC Service Technician works with commercial and industrial clients after system installation. This role centers on equipment start-up, commissioning, troubleshooting, and ongoing service. The technician ensures HVAC systems perform reliably, efficiently, and meet client expectations for comfort and operation. Travel is required about 5-15% of the time, mainly within the greater Vancouver area. Some overnight stays may be needed. Business travel expenses are reimbursed per company policy. Main Responsibilities Start up and commission newly installed HVAC systems, verifying correct operation and settings. Perform scheduled preventive maintenance to support system longevity and efficiency. Troubleshoot and repair HVAC equipment issues, such as electrical faults, refrigerant leaks, and airflow problems. Test and confirm control systems and safety devices are functioning properly. Work with project managers and installation teams to resolve post-installation concerns quickly. Document all service and maintenance activities, including test outcomes, parts used, and system changes. Discuss system performance, recommended improvements, and service needs with customers. Follow safety standards, codes, and company procedures at all times. Participate in training to stay current with HVAC technology, diagnostic tools, and energy efficiency practices.
