This position is primarily lab-based.Key Responsibilities and Essential FunctionsPrimary ResponsibilitiesReceive and accession samples into the Laboratory Information System utilized by Adaptive.Identify and assess problematic samples/shipments, determining if escalation is required to other departments or leadership.Input, upload, and verify the accuracy and completeness of information related to samples and associated projects across various systems.Maintain records of all system transactions pertaining to each managed sample to ensure a documented Chain of Custody (COC).Oversee the proper storage and transfer of physical samples throughout their management lifecycle.Conduct sample disposition management, including disposal and return.Facilitate the check-in and check-out processes of biological samples.Ensure timely sample transfers at the appropriate temperature to respective departments.Exhibit independence with a solid understanding of processes and exceptional time management skills.Perform additional duties as assigned by the Supervisor or senior staff.Adhere to document procedures, safety protocols, and laboratory regulations including Good Clinical and Laboratory Practices (GCLP), College of American Pathologists (CAP), and Clinical Laboratory Improvements Amendment (CLIA).Fulfill any other duties as required.Core CompetenciesJob knowledge: Execute all functions in compliance with standard operating procedures, work orders, protocols, and training guides.Quality standards: Consistently deliver high-quality work, ensuring precision and thoroughness in all tasks.
Accessioning Specialist II at Adaptive Biotechnologies supports the Biological Sample Management team in Seattle. This position focuses on accessioning and managing biological samples throughout their lifecycle, working primarily in a laboratory setting. Schedule Tuesday through Saturday, 10:30am to 7:00pm What You Will Do Receive and accession biological samples into the Laboratory Information System used by Biological Sample Management (BSM). Identify and assess problematic samples or shipments, escalating issues to the appropriate departments or BSM leadership as needed. Accurately enter and upload sample and project information across multiple systems. Maintain detailed records for each managed sample to ensure Chain of Custody (COC) integrity. Oversee storage and transfer of physical samples throughout the management lifecycle. Manage sample disposition, including processes for disposal and return. Conduct check-in and check-out procedures for biological samples within BSM. Facilitate temperature-controlled transfers of samples to other departments as scheduled. Work independently with a strong understanding of processes and effective time management. Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors or senior BSM staff. Follow documentation requirements, safety protocols, and laboratory regulations, including GCLP, CAP, and CLIA standards. Other tasks as assigned.
