What You Will Do Move, place, and install track materials using standard railroad maintenance tools. Build railroad tracks, embankments, special track work, road crossings, signage, and rail lubricators. Perform maintenance and construction work such as rail and tie replacement, track building, and switch adjustments. Use hand tools (picks, shovels, spike mauls) for extended periods. Operate hydraulic and pneumatic railroad power tools. Respond to emergency callouts after hours and on weekends, including derailment response. Help re-rail train cars as required. Follow all company policies and federal regulations, including proper use of PPE and safety procedures. Identify, report, and help resolve safety hazards and job site conditions.
