Role overview The Associate Researcher in Advanced Sensor Systems will join the SAAM Group to support research, design, and development of new capabilities that advance autonomy. This position involves working with interdisciplinary teams across STR campuses, contributing to technical projects, preparing reports and deliverables, and assisting with proposal development. The main emphasis is on developing and applying AI, machine learning, and related algorithms to improve autonomy, particularly in simulation environments. What you will do Design, develop, and refine advanced machine learning and other algorithms to address autonomy challenges and analyze results. Create, update, and maintain algorithms within software applications. Develop, validate, and manage large-scale simulations and simulation tools. Prepare detailed technical reports and presentations for government stakeholders, explaining how simulation findings connect to national security goals. Requirements Eligibility for a Secret-level Security Clearance (U.S. citizenship required by government regulations).
