FACILITIES SUPERVISOR (STARBASE VILLAGE)
As the Facilities Supervisor for Starbase Village, an innovative, self-sufficient community supporting Starship operations, you will take charge of nearly 1,000 housing units, ranging from family homes to single-unit hotels, along with extensive amenities like schools, hotels, apartments, recreation centers, restaurants, and bars. Envision this as a small city or a luxury cruise ship: your leadership will guarantee seamless operations, cost efficiency, and an outstanding experience for residents, employees, visitors, and VIPs. This pivotal role directly contributes to our mission of making life multiplanetary by ensuring the maintenance of world-class facilities in a challenging, high-stakes environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead a high-achieving team responsible for all facilities operations, including general maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, janitorial, landscaping, waste management, and site enhancements, to deliver zero unplanned disruptions for over 1,000 residents and critical Starship operations.
- Manage third-party vendors (e.g., janitorial, contractors) to uphold corporate standards, optimize contracts, and achieve cost savings while ensuring exceptional service.
- Develop, plan, and execute strategic site improvement projects that align with business objectives, from residential upgrades to amenity enhancements.
- Oversee maintenance, repairs, and installations across a variety of assets: housing, employee housing, food & beverage venues, recreation facilities, and a private school, ensuring safe and comfortable living in a remote environment.
- Design and implement a proactive preventive maintenance program for launch and support facilities, minimizing downtime and maximizing efficiency.
- Monitor construction projects to ensure timely, on-budget delivery with no impact on ongoing operations or critical paths.
- Coach, develop, and inspire a team of maintenance technicians and trades professionals to achieve peak performance.
- Prioritize tasks dynamically in a fast-paced environment, effectively removing obstacles and innovating for continuous improvement.
