ABOUT THE ROLE
We are in search of a detail-oriented and analytical Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Associate who will play a crucial role in capital forecasting, monitoring financial performance, and project-level reporting for our development and construction projects.
This position will be integrated within the Finance organization, acting as a strategic partner to the Construction and Development teams throughout the entire project lifecycle , from project initiation and underwriting to construction execution and final closeout.
The FP&A Associate will ensure that capital forecasts remain disciplined, transparent, and aligned with the realities of project execution, providing leadership with clear insights into cost drivers, risks, and funding implications.
Key responsibilities include:
- Budget vs. Actuals Analysis & Variance Reporting:
- Analyze actual expenditures against approved budgets and forecasts while identifying and explaining key variance drivers related to labor, materials, general conditions, and soft costs.
- Evaluate cost-to-complete projections and assess the financial implications of scope changes, schedule adjustments, and procurement timing variations.
- Change Order & Cost Curve Monitoring:
- Collaborate with Construction and internal estimating teams to review change orders and evaluate their financial impact concerning baseline budgets.
- Track and refine cost curves throughout the project lifecycle, enhancing forecast accuracy through trend analysis and performance benchmarking.
- Treasury & Project-Level Financing Support:
- Work alongside Treasury and Fundraising teams to deliver accurate project-level capital deployment reports and forward-looking cash forecasts.
- Assist lenders in assessing financial stability and project viability.
