About the job
Astranis develops advanced satellites for high orbits, expanding access to secure and reliable networks for a wide range of clients, including corporations, government agencies, and the US military. With five satellites in orbit and a robust pipeline of future launches, Astranis is working through a commercial contract backlog exceeding $1 billion. The company is backed by over $750 million in investments from firms such as Andreessen Horowitz, Blackrock, and Fidelity, and operates from a 153,000 sq. ft. headquarters in Northern California with a team of 450 engineers and specialists.
Internship Overview
This paid, hourly internship runs for twelve weeks and is designed for students enrolled in four-year universities. Interns at Astranis tackle real engineering challenges and contribute directly to projects with meaningful impact. Many previous interns have helped design and test hardware and software that reached orbit, and several have moved into full-time roles after graduation. Candidates who have already completed a four-year degree should consider applying for Associate Engineer positions instead.
What you will do
- Work with the engineering team to design, develop, and test software for embedded systems on satellites.
- Support ground control and testing applications through software development and collaboration.
Requirements
- Enrollment in a four-year university program during the internship period.
