The Role
At Mach, we develop UAS platforms across various phases of flight test development. This position focuses on flight test engineering, including operations and testing of UAS aircraft in development. You will report directly to the head of flight operations and collaborate with system engineering leads to create and implement test plans. Responsibilities encompass developing test CONOP planning, procedures, conducting safety analyses, and executing post-flight reviews. Testing will take place on private and DoD ranges, necessitating occasional out-of-state and possibly OCONUS travel. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future flight team as we scale our products and operations in the coming year.
Key Responsibilities
Lead coordination for flight test operations.
Advise the engineering team on essential requirements for systems checks and data systems.
Drive the development of test infrastructure at primary test sites and equip test equipment and GCS.
Guide the team through the testing workflow, including planning preparations, readiness reviews, dry runs, and post-test evaluations.
Keep the product development team updated on all requirements.
Assist in structuring program flight test campaigns with system, GNC, and energetics engineers.
Coordinate and plan flight test demonstrations.
Serve as a technical advisor for test operations.
Conduct safety analyses and uphold company safety policies.
