Job Title: Printing and Folding Cartons Estimator

Job Summary:
As a Printing and Folding Cartons Estimator, you will play a pivotal role in determining the costs and pricing strategies for folding carton projects. Your expertise will be vital in dissecting job specifications, selecting optimal materials, calculating production expenses, and ensuring that pricing remains competitive while safeguarding profitability. The ideal candidate will possess robust analytical abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and a solid background in the printing and packaging sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Thoroughly review customer specifications and design elements to produce precise cost estimates.
- Evaluate materials, production techniques, and labor costs to establish pricing frameworks.
- Engage with sales, design, and production teams to maximize cost-effectiveness.
- Select suitable substrates, inks, coatings, and finishing techniques tailored to project requirements.
- Create detailed quotations, cost analyses, and profitability assessments.
- Stay informed on industry pricing trends, emerging technologies, and cost-reduction strategies.
- Ensure that estimates are congruent with production capacities and efficiency.
- Maintain historical records of estimates for reference and analytical purposes.
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to gather material cost data.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Printing Technology, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Experience: At least 2-3 years of estimating experience in the folding carton or packaging sectors.
- Technical Skills:
- In-depth understanding of packaging materials, printing methodologies, and manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency in estimating software and tools such as Microsoft Excel, ERP systems, and CAD software (preferred).
- Soft Skills:
- Exceptional mathematical and analytical capabilities.
- Ability to operate under pressure and adhere to stringent deadlines.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of cost-management strategies and vendor negotiation techniques.
