Role overview
As a Freelance AI Trainer (Research Physicist), assignments involve designing and documenting advanced physics problems. Projects draw on real research workflows and require deep subject knowledge. Tasks may include:
- Developing original optics problems that reflect real research methods in physics
- Ensuring problems are computationally intensive, requiring days or weeks to solve
- Designing scenarios involving advanced reasoning in mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, and quantum mechanics
- Creating problems inspired by research or practical applications in optics and physics
- Clearly documenting problem statements and providing verified solutions
Requirements
- Degree in Physics (theoretical, experimental, or computational) or a related field
- At least 2 years of professional experience in applied, research, or teaching settings
- Proficiency with numerical simulation methods
- Ability to design problems that reflect authentic physics research workflows
- Creative approach to problem design across physics domains
- Familiarity with modeling and approximation techniques in physics
- Strong written English skills (C1+ level)
Time commitment
During active project phases, tasks typically require 10–20 hours per week. Actual hours may vary depending on the project.
Compensation
Contributors may earn up to $76 per hour, depending on expertise and pace. Compensation varies by project and requirements.
