Opportunity Overview
Each project presents unique challenges, and contributors may be required to:
- Design innovative computational statistics problems that mimic authentic mathematical research workflows;
- Develop problems that necessitate Python programming to solve using libraries such as Numpy, SciPy, and Sympy;
- Create problems that are computationally demanding and cannot be feasibly solved manually within a reasonable timeframe (days/weeks);
- Formulate problems that involve complex reasoning in domains like number theory, combinatorics, graph theory, and numerical analysis;
- Base problems on actual research challenges or practical applications from mathematical practice;
- Verify solutions using Python with standard mathematical libraries;
- Clearly document problem statements and provide verified correct answers.
Qualifications We Seek
This role is ideal for statistics experts with Python experience who are open to part-time, non-permanent projects. Ideal candidates will possess:
- A degree in Statistics or a related field;
- Proficiency in Python for numerical validation; familiarity with MATLAB, R, C, SQL, Numpy, Pandas, SciPy, or any equivalent programming language is acceptable;
- At least 2 years of professional experience, whether in applied, research, or teaching roles;
- Excellent written English skills (C1+);
- Professional certifications (e.g., CMME, SAS Certifications, CAP) and experience in international or applied projects are considered advantageous.
