About the Role
toloka-ai, in partnership with Mindrift, connects specialists with AI projects for top technology companies. This freelance position is project-based and does not offer permanent employment.
What You Will Do
- Create original computational statistics problems that reflect real mathematical research processes.
- Design challenges that require Python programming to solve, using tools such as Numpy, SciPy, and Sympy.
- Develop problems that are computationally intensive, intended to take days or weeks to solve manually.
- Formulate tasks involving complex reasoning in areas like number theory, combinatorics, graph theory, and numerical analysis.
- Base problems on genuine research questions or practical mathematical applications.
- Validate solutions in Python with standard mathematical libraries.
- Document each problem clearly and provide verified, correct answers.
Who We’re Looking For
- Degree in Statistics or a closely related field.
- Proficiency in Python for numerical validation. Knowledge of MATLAB, R, C, SQL, Numpy, Pandas, SciPy, or similar libraries is also valued.
- Minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience (applied, research, or teaching roles).
- Strong written English skills (C1 or higher).
- Professional certifications (such as CMME, SAS Certifications, CAP) and experience with international or applied projects are a plus.
How Projects Work
The process includes: Application → Qualification Assessment → Project Participation → Task Completion → Compensation
Time Commitment
Expect to commit roughly 10–20 hours per week during active project phases. Actual hours depend on project requirements and are not guaranteed outside of active assignments.
Compensation
Earn up to $38 per hour. Actual pay depends on the complexity of the project, required expertise, and individual contributions. Compensation may vary between projects.
Location
This is a remote role based in Queensland, Australia.
