Role Overview

Mindrift seeks freelance Electrical Engineers with strong Python skills to contribute to AI projects remotely from Queensland, Australia. Contributors work on a range of project-based tasks, each with its own requirements and timelines.

Sample Project Tasks

  • Design computational engineering problems that mirror real engineering workflows
  • Create challenges that require Python programming for engineering calculations and simulations
  • Develop problems that involve computationally intensive tasks, including those needing numerical methods or iterative approaches
  • Build scenarios focused on system design, optimization, and analysis
  • Base assignments on real research challenges or practical engineering applications
  • Validate solutions using Python and standard engineering libraries
  • Write clear problem statements and provide verified solutions

Who Thrives in This Role

  • Holds a degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
  • Demonstrates strong Python skills for numerical validation; experience with MATLAB, R, C, SQL, Numpy, Pandas, SciPy, or other domain-specific libraries is also valued
  • Has at least 2 years of experience in applied, research, or teaching roles
  • Understands practical engineering constraints and approximations
  • Writes advanced English (C1+ level)
  • Professional certifications (such as CMME, SAS Certifications, CAP) and experience with international or applied projects are a plus

Project Commitment

Active project phases typically require an estimated 10–20 hours per week. Actual workload may vary depending on project needs and timelines.

Compensation

Contributors can earn up to $39 per hour, depending on their contribution and speed. Rates vary by project based on complexity, scope, and expertise required. Other projects on the platform may offer different compensation depending on their specific requirements.
