Opportunity Overview:
Each project presents unique challenges, and contributors will have the opportunity to:
- Craft original computational engineering problems that reflect real-world engineering workflows;
- Design challenges that necessitate Python programming for solving engineering calculations and simulations;
- Ensure tasks are computationally demanding, utilizing numerical methods or iterative solutions;
- Develop engineering problems centered around system design, optimization, and analysis;
- Base tasks on genuine research challenges or practical engineering applications;
- Validate solutions using Python and recognized engineering libraries;
- Clearly document problem statements and provide verified correct answers.
Desired Qualifications:
This role is ideal for engineers experienced in Python who are open to part-time, non-permanent projects. The ideal candidate will possess:
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field;
- Proficiency in Python for numerical validation. Familiarity with MATLAB, R, C, SQL, Numpy, Pandas, SciPy, or domain-specific libraries is also acceptable;
- A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in applicable fields such as applied, research, or teaching;
- A solid understanding of practical engineering constraints and approximations;
- Excellent written English skills (C1+ proficiency);
- Professional certifications (e.g., CMME, SAS Certifications, CAP) and experience with international projects are advantages.

Time Commitment:
Project tasks are estimated to require approximately 10–20 hours per week during active phases, depending on project needs. This is an estimate and not a guaranteed workload.
Compensation:
Contributors may earn up to $17 per hour, based on their experience and contribution pace. Compensation levels may vary across projects according to their scope and complexity.
