Opportunity Overview
Each project will present distinctive challenges, and contributors may:
- Design original computational engineering tasks that replicate authentic engineering workflows;
- Create programming challenges that utilize Python for engineering calculations and simulations;
- Ensure tasks are computationally demanding, requiring numerical methods or iterative solutions;
- Develop problems related to system design, optimization, and analysis;
- Base challenges on genuine research issues or practical applications from the engineering domain;
- Validate solutions using Python with established engineering libraries;
- Provide clear documentation of problem statements along with verified correct answers.
Ideal Candidate Profile
This position is well-suited for engineers with Python expertise seeking part-time, non-permanent project engagements. Preferred qualifications include:
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline;
- Proficiency in Python for numerical validation; familiarity with MATLAB, R, C, SQL, Numpy, Pandas, SciPy, or other programming languages is acceptable;
- A minimum of 2 years of professional experience, including applied, research, or teaching roles;
- A solid understanding of practical engineering constraints and approximations;
- Excellent written English skills (C1+ level);
- Professional certifications (e.g., CMME, SAS Certifications, CAP) and experience in international or applied projects are advantageous.

Project Time Commitment
During active phases, tasks are estimated to require approximately 10–20 hours per week, contingent upon project demands. This estimate does not guarantee a specific workload and applies only while the project is active.
Compensation
Contributors may earn up to $69 per hour, depending on their skill level and contribution pace. Compensation varies based on project scope, complexity, and required expertise. Other projects on the platform may feature different earning opportunities depending on their specific requirements.
