Opportunity Overview

Each project presents unique challenges, and contributors may be required to: 

  • Devise original optical problems that closely mimic real-world physics research workflows;
  • Ensure that these problems are computationally demanding and cannot be solved manually within reasonable timeframes (days/weeks);
  • Create problems necessitating complex reasoning chains in mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, and quantum mechanics;
  • Base problems on actual research challenges or practical applications from the fields of optics and physics;
  • Clearly document problem statements and provide verified correct solutions.

Desired Qualifications

This role is ideal for optical engineers seeking part-time, non-permanent projects. We prefer candidates who possess: 

  • A degree in Physics (Theoretical, Experimental, or Computational) or a related field;
  • A minimum of 2 years of professional experience, whether in applied, research, or teaching roles;
  • Experience with numerical simulation techniques;
  • The capability to design problems that reflect real physics research workflows;
  • Creative thinking in problem design across various physics disciplines;
  • Familiarity with physics modeling and approximation strategies;
  • Strong written English proficiency (C1+).
