Mindrift is a platform that connects experts with project-based AI opportunities within prominent technology companies, focusing on the testing, evaluation, and enhancement of AI systems. Please note that this is a project-based role, not a permanent position.
Opportunity Overview
Each project presents unique challenges, and contributors may engage in the following tasks:
- Create innovative optics problems that accurately represent real-world physics research workflows;
- Ensure these problems are computationally demanding, making manual solutions impractical within reasonable timeframes (days to weeks);
- Develop scenarios that require complex reasoning across mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, and quantum mechanics;
- Base problems on actual research difficulties or practical applications within the fields of optics and physics;
- Clearly document problem statements and deliver verified correct answers.
Desired Qualifications
This position is ideal for optical engineers seeking part-time, non-permanent projects. Ideally, candidates will possess:
- A degree in Physics (Theoretical, Experimental, or Computational) or related disciplines;
- A minimum of 2 years of professional experience, including applied, research, or teaching roles;
- Familiarity with numerical simulation techniques;
- The ability to develop problems that reflect genuine physics research processes;
- Creative problem-solving skills across various physics domains;
- Knowledge of physics modeling and approximation methods;
- Strong proficiency in written English (C1 or higher).
Process Overview
Apply → Pass the qualification process → Join a project → Complete assigned tasks → Receive payment.
Project Commitment Expectations
During active phases, tasks are anticipated to require approximately 10–20 hours per week, depending on project needs. This is an estimate and does not guarantee workload.
Compensation
Contributors can earn up to $35 per hour, contingent upon their expertise and contribution pace. Compensation may vary by project based on its scope, complexity, and the required skill set. Please be aware that other projects on our platform may offer different compensation levels based on specific needs.
