toloka-ai, working with Mindrift, brings together professionals for project-based AI assignments with major technology companies. This freelance optical engineer position centers on evaluating and improving AI systems. The role is not permanent and is structured around specific projects.
What you will do
- Create original optics problems that reflect real-world research workflows in physics.
- Design computationally demanding problems that cannot be solved manually in a short timeframe.
- Develop scenarios requiring advanced reasoning across mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, and quantum mechanics.
- Base problem sets on authentic research challenges or practical applications in optics and physics.
- Write clear problem statements and provide verified solutions.
Requirements
- Degree in Physics (Theoretical, Experimental, or Computational) or a closely related field
- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience (applied, research, or teaching)
- Experience using numerical simulation methods
- Ability to design problems modeled on genuine research workflows
- Creative thinking across multiple physics domains
- Understanding of physics modeling and approximation techniques
- Strong written English skills (C1 level or higher)
