Mindrift serves as a bridge between talented specialists and project-based AI opportunities with top technology firms, aimed at testing, assessing, and enhancing AI systems. This is a project-based role, not a permanent position.

Key Responsibilities

While each project features distinct tasks, contributors may:

  • Craft original computational physics challenges that replicate authentic research workflows;
  • Develop Python-based problems (utilizing Numpy, SciPy, Sympy) for problem-solving;
  • Ensure that tasks are computationally demanding and cannot be manually solved in a reasonable timeframe (spanning days or weeks);
  • Formulate problems that require complex reasoning in physics domains such as mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, and quantum mechanics;
  • Base challenges on genuine research issues or practical applications found in physical sciences;
  • Validate solutions using Python along with standard physics simulation libraries;
  • Thoroughly document problem statements and provide verified solutions.

Qualifications

This role is ideal for optical engineers proficient in Python who are open to part-time, non-permanent projects. Preferred candidates will possess:

  • A degree in Physics (Theoretical, Experimental, or Computational) or related disciplines;
  • Strong Python skills for numerical validation; familiarity with MATLAB, R, C, SQL, Numpy, Pandas, SciPy, or other programming languages is also beneficial;
  • A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in applied work, research, or teaching;
  • Experience with numerical simulation techniques;
  • The capability to design problems that reflect real-world physics research processes;
  • Innovative thinking in problem design spanning various physics fields;
  • Knowledge of physics modeling and approximation strategies;
  • Exceptional written English skills (C1+).
