Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a degree in Physics (Theoretical, Experimental, Computational) or a closely related field, coupled with a strong proficiency in Python for numerical validation. Familiarity with MATLAB, R, C, SQL, Stata, or any relevant programming language is also advantageous. A minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience—be it in applied research or teaching—is required. Experience with numerical simulation methods, creativity in problem design across diverse physics areas, and strong written English skills (C1+) are essential.

About the job

We invite you to submit your CV in English, along with your English proficiency level.

At Mindrift, we facilitate connections between talented specialists and exciting project-based AI opportunities in leading technology companies. Our focus is on the testing, evaluation, and enhancement of AI systems. Note that participation is project-specific and does not constitute permanent employment.

Opportunity Overview

Each project presents distinct tasks, and contributors may engage in the following:

  • Crafting original computational physics problems that replicate authentic physics research workflows;
  • Designing challenges that necessitate Python programming for resolution (utilizing Numpy, SciPy, Sympy);
  • Creating problems that are computationally intensive and require substantial timeframes (days/weeks) for resolution;
  • Formulating challenges that involve complex reasoning in mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, and quantum mechanics;
  • Grounding problems in real research dilemmas or practical applications from physics;
  • Validating solutions through Python using established physics simulation libraries;
  • Clearly documenting problem statements and providing verified, accurate answers.

Ideal Candidate Profile

This role is well-suited for quantum researchers with Python proficiency who are interested in part-time, non-permanent projects. We seek candidates with:

  • A degree in Physics (Theoretical, Experimental, Computational) or a related field;
  • Proficiency in Python for numerical validation, with experience in MATLAB, R, C, SQL, or domain-specific libraries as acceptable alternatives;
  • At least 2 years of professional experience in applied research or teaching;
  • Familiarity with numerical simulation techniques;
  • The ability to design problems that reflect genuine physics research workflows;
  • Innovative thinking in problem creation across various physics domains;
  • Knowledge of physics modeling and approximation methods;
  • Strong command of written English (C1 or higher).
