Toloka AI, working with Mindrift, offers freelance, project-based roles for quantum research scientists and AI trainers with strong Python backgrounds. These roles are not permanent and are designed for those interested in testing, evaluating, and improving AI systems for major technology companies.
Key responsibilities
- Create original computational physics challenges that reflect real-world research processes.
- Develop problems requiring Python solutions, using libraries such as Numpy, SciPy, or Sympy.
- Design computationally intensive tasks that cannot be solved manually in a short timeframe.
- Formulate problems involving advanced reasoning in areas like mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, and quantum mechanics.
- Base challenges on authentic research questions or practical physics issues.
- Validate solutions in Python with standard physics simulation tools.
- Document problem statements clearly and provide verified, accurate answers.
Who will succeed in this role
- Holds a degree in Physics (theoretical, experimental, or computational) or a closely related field.
- Proficient in Python for numerical validation. Experience with MATLAB, R, C, SQL, Numpy, Pandas, or SciPy is a plus.
- Has at least 2 years of experience in applied research or teaching.
- Familiar with numerical simulation methods.
- Skilled at designing problems that mirror actual research workflows in physics.
- Brings creative problem-solving skills across multiple physics domains.
- Understands modeling and approximation techniques in physics.
- Demonstrates excellent written English (C1 level or higher).

Time commitment

Compensation
