Role overview

This freelance role centers on developing and validating advanced computational physics problems to support AI system evaluation. Work includes designing original challenges that reflect real research workflows and require Python programming to solve. Contributors use libraries such as Numpy, SciPy, or Sympy to create and validate complex problems that would take days or weeks to solve manually.

  • Design computational physics challenges modeled on authentic research or practical implementations
  • Create problems that demand advanced reasoning in mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, and quantum mechanics
  • Develop scenarios where solutions are validated in Python using standard physics simulation tools
  • Write clear problem statements and supply verified, correct solutions

Requirements

  • Degree in Physics (theoretical, experimental, or computational) or a related discipline
  • Strong Python skills for numerical validation; knowledge of other tools such as MATLAB, R, C, SQL, Numpy, Pandas, SciPy, Stata, or domain-specific libraries is valued
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in applied research or teaching
  • Background in numerical simulation techniques
  • Ability to design problems based on real-world physics research
  • Creative problem-solving across multiple physics domains
  • Understanding of physics modeling and approximation methods
  • Excellent written English at C1 level or higher

Application process

  1. Apply
  2. Pass qualifications
  3. Join a project
  4. Complete assigned tasks
  5. Receive payment

Project commitment

During active project periods, tasks typically require 10–20 hours per week, though workload may vary depending on project needs. This estimate does not guarantee a set number of hours.

Compensation

Contributors may earn up to $10 per hour, depending on the nature of their contributions and efficiency. Actual rates can vary by project scope, complexity, and required skills. Other projects on the platform may offer different earning potential based on their specific requirements.
