Role overview

This freelance research physicist position centers on creating and validating computational physics problems for AI training. Projects involve designing challenges that require Python programming and reflect authentic research workflows. The work is project-based, with hours varying according to project needs.

What you will do

  • Create original computational physics problems modeled on real research scenarios.
  • Design problem sets that require Python solutions, using libraries such as Numpy, SciPy, and Sympy.
  • Develop computationally intensive problems that would be impractical to solve manually.
  • Build scenarios involving advanced reasoning in mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, and quantum mechanics.
  • Draw from real research or practical applications in physics.
  • Validate solutions in Python using established simulation libraries.
  • Document each problem clearly, providing verified solutions.

Requirements

  • Degree in Physics (theoretical, experimental, or computational) or a closely related field.
  • Strong Python skills for numerical validation. Experience with MATLAB, R, C, SQL, Numpy, Pandas, SciPy, or similar libraries is also acceptable.
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in research, applied work, or teaching.
  • Comfort with numerical simulation techniques and modeling in physics.
  • Ability to design problems that reflect real-world research challenges.
  • Creative problem-solving across multiple physics domains.
  • Excellent written English (C1 level or higher).
