Role overview

This freelance, project-based contract with Toloka AI (via Mindrift) centers on evaluating and improving AI systems. The work involves designing and solving advanced computational physics problems for major technology clients. This is not a permanent position, but rather a contract role tied to specific projects.

What you will do

  • Develop original computational physics problems that closely mirror real research workflows.
  • Create challenges that require Python programming to solve, using libraries such as Numpy, SciPy, and Sympy.
  • Ensure problems are complex enough that they cannot be solved manually within a reasonable time.
  • Design tasks that require advanced reasoning in areas like mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, and quantum mechanics.
  • Base problems on authentic research questions or practical scenarios in physics.
  • Validate solutions using Python and established simulation tools.
  • Clearly document each problem statement and provide accurate, verified solutions.

Requirements

  • Degree in Physics (theoretical, experimental, or computational) or a related discipline.
  • Experience using Python for numerical validation. Familiarity with MATLAB, R, C, SQL, Numpy, Pandas, SciPy, or similar tools is also acceptable.
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in research, application, or teaching.
  • Proficiency in numerical simulation methods.
  • Ability to design problems that reflect real research practices in physics.
  • Creativity in problem-solving across multiple areas of physics.
  • Understanding of physics modeling and approximation techniques.
  • Strong written English skills at C1 level or higher.

How to apply

  1. Submit your application.
  2. Complete the qualification steps.
  3. Join a project when selected.
  4. Work on assigned tasks.
