Toloka AI, in partnership with Mindrift, connects skilled professionals to project-based AI initiatives from leading technology companies. This freelance position focuses on evaluating and improving AI systems through advanced physics problem design. Engagement is strictly project-based and does not constitute permanent employment.

What You'll Do

  • Design computational physics problems that mirror real research workflows in physics.
  • Create programming challenges that require solutions in Python, using libraries such as Numpy, SciPy, and Sympy.
  • Ensure problems are complex enough to be unsolvable by hand within days or weeks.
  • Develop tasks involving advanced reasoning in mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, and quantum mechanics.
  • Base challenges on authentic research scenarios or real-world physics applications.
  • Validate all solutions using Python and established physics simulation tools.
  • Document each problem thoroughly and provide accurate, verified solutions.

Who We're Looking For

  • Degree in Physics (theoretical, experimental, or computational) or a related field.
  • Proficient in Python for numerical validation. Equivalent experience in MATLAB, R, C, SQL, Numpy, Pandas, SciPy, or similar tools is valued.
  • Minimum of 2 years in applied, research, or teaching roles.
  • Experience with numerical simulation methods.
  • Ability to design problems that reflect real research practices in physics.
  • Creative problem-solving skills across multiple physics domains.
  • Familiarity with physics modeling and approximation techniques.
  • Strong written English at C1+ level.
