Toloka AI, in collaboration with Mindrift, offers project-based freelance opportunities for research physicists skilled in Python. This remote role centers on shaping and evaluating AI systems by designing advanced physics problems. Engagements are strictly project-based and do not represent permanent employment.
Role overview
This position involves creating computational physics challenges that reflect real research workflows. The work requires building programming tasks to be solved in Python, using libraries such as Numpy, SciPy, and Sympy. Problems should be complex enough that manual solutions would take days or weeks, and must be rooted in authentic research or real-world applications. Each problem must be thoroughly documented, with verified solutions provided using Python and established simulation tools.
What you will do
- Design computational physics problems modeled after real research scenarios.
- Create programming challenges requiring Python solutions, using libraries like Numpy, SciPy, and Sympy.
- Ensure problems require advanced reasoning in areas such as mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, and quantum mechanics.
- Validate all solutions in Python and with physics simulation tools.
- Document each problem and supply accurate, verified solutions.
Requirements
- Degree in Physics (theoretical, experimental, or computational) or a related field.
- Proficiency in Python for numerical validation; experience with MATLAB, R, C, SQL, Numpy, Pandas, SciPy, or similar tools is valued.
- At least 2 years in applied, research, or teaching roles.
- Experience with numerical simulation methods and physics modeling techniques.
- Ability to design problems reflecting real research practices.
- Creative problem-solving skills across multiple physics domains.
- Strong written English at C1+ level.
