Role overview
This freelance Supply Chain Consultant - AI Trainer position calls for deep expertise in procurement and supply chain operations. The consultant will draw from industry experience to design realistic disruption scenarios, define expected outcomes and mitigation plans, and review AI-generated recommendations for accuracy and business value.
What you will do
- Create authentic supply chain disruption scenarios based on actual manufacturing and procurement challenges, such as supplier delays, quantity changes, logistics problems, or quality failures.
- Define likely outcomes and effective mitigation strategies for each scenario.
- Review AI-generated suggestions, checking for practical business logic and relevance.
- Assess deliverables for precision, completeness, and fit within ERP systems (including Microsoft Dynamics 365, Coupa, Jaggaer, Ariba/SAP).
- Support structured data creation and validation, following established guidelines.
Requirements
- Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience in procurement, supply chain, or purchasing, preferably in manufacturing.
- Solid understanding of procurement processes: purchase orders, vendor management, inventory, and production planning.
- Direct experience with ERP platforms such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics 365.
- Ability to create and analyze disruption scenarios and related mitigation plans.
- Knowledge of disruption types, including delays, shortages, quality issues, and logistics challenges.
- Familiarity with Incoterms and logistics or transportation management.
- Understanding of Bill of Materials (BOM) and production planning methods.
- Experience tracking supplier performance metrics (such as OTIF, lead times, quality scores).
- Strong analytical skills for reviewing AI outputs against real business needs.
- Background in data validation, structured data entry, or annotation work.
- Excellent written English communication skills.
Project process

Time commitment
Estimated 10-20 hours per week during active project periods. Actual workload may vary based on project requirements; there is no guaranteed minimum or maximum number of hours.
Compensation
Rates up to $50 per hour, depending on the specific project.
