Role Overview
We are seeking a versatile and experienced Forward-Deployed Engineer to enhance our team at Foxglove. This position is perfect for a product-focused full-stack engineer who excels in customer-facing roles and enjoys tackling intricate technical challenges in robotics and data observability.
In this role, you will collaborate directly with key clients to integrate and expand Foxglove's platform within their ecosystems, while also contributing to the development of our core product. This unique position combines hands-on development, creative problem-solving, and close teamwork with customer teams, allowing you to serve as a trusted engineering partner and identify opportunities for enhancement based on real-world scenarios.
Key Responsibilities
Deep Customer Engagement – Work closely with customer teams to grasp their business objectives, domain limitations, and technical needs.
Solution Design & Development – Create and implement comprehensive solutions using an experimental and iterative approach (TypeScript/React, Node.js, Python, ROS, SQL).
Project Scoping & Planning – Define clear scopes of work, timelines, and success metrics for projects ranging from proofs-of-concept to full production deployments.
Hands-On Coding – Collaborate directly with customer engineers, deploying solutions in their cloud or on-premises environments to ensure successful implementation.
Cross-Functional Collaboration – Work closely with Sales and Customer Success teams on the same accounts to deliver seamless experiences and measurable results.
Feedback for Product Improvement – Communicate insights from the field to Research, Product, and Engineering teams; your experiences will shape our development roadmap.
