About the job
Join Mercura as a Full-Stack Engineering Intern
At Mercura, we are revolutionizing the backbone of our economy with cutting-edge AI software. Supported by Y Combinator, we've successfully secured a significant funding round, achieving one of the highest valuations in our cohort. As one of Europe’s swiftly growing startups, we proudly surpassed $2M in ARR in our inaugural year. Our ambitious target is to reach $10M ARR by the end of 2026.
Our co-founder, Lukas, hails from a family deeply rooted in the construction industry for over 115 years. Having experienced the challenges of manual quoting firsthand, he is driven to transform this sector through AI.
We are on a heartfelt mission to empower essential industries with AI technology, enhancing human expertise and enabling individuals to focus on what they do best.
Your Role
As a Full-Stack Engineering Intern, you will be integral in developing AI systems from the ground up. This role demands a proactive, hands-on approach, ideal for engineers who possess high agency, strong technical expertise, and a founder-like mindset. We seek innovative builders with a robust product orientation who have successfully launched complex web applications.
We expect our interns to meet the same standards as our full-time employees: we only hire those we trust to independently manage projects and who we envision as long-term collaborators.
If you are a passionate creator who thrives at the intersection of full-stack development and AI, this is your chance to work alongside some of the most talented engineers and influence user interactions with AI technology.
Your Responsibilities

- Backend & APIs: Create scalable APIs and backend systems that facilitate the evolution of AI capabilities and product expansion.
- Product Engineering: Collaborate closely with users and the product team to translate real-world workflows into actionable product and engineering strategies.
- Rapid Iteration: Engage in quick iterations based on user feedback and analytics to enhance product functionality.
