Join our dynamic team at vitl as a Full-Stack Software Engineer, where you will play a pivotal role in designing and constructing our innovative platform. As one of our first engineers, you will collaborate closely with our Head of Product & Engineering and CEO to create the foundational architecture that will support our entire ecosystem.

This is a unique 0-to-1 opportunity that allows you to significantly influence our technical direction, take ownership of substantial product components, and help shape our engineering culture as we expand. What You’ll Do

Greenfield Development: Design and build our core systems, including customer-facing user interfaces, web experiences, design systems, APIs, and backend integrations, all while ensuring optimal performance, usability, and maintainability.
End-to-End Ownership: Take full responsibility for entire features, from engaging with users and stakeholders to drafting specifications, aligning with our strategic objectives, and delivering to production.
Healthcare Innovation: Tackle real-world challenges that enhance patient care directly.
Agile Environment: We prioritize rapid development cycles, continuous delivery, and learning from actual user feedback.

What You Bring

5+ years of experience in building and deploying full-stack production systems with polished front-end and backend capabilities, utilizing technologies such as React, TypeScript, Next.js, or similar, alongside modern backend languages (Python, Golang, Java/Kotlin, etc.).
A proven track record of ownership with a startup mindset: You have developed meaningful projects from the ground up, whether through leading initiatives, launching a company, creating side projects, or working in early-stage startups. You excel in ambiguous situations, move swiftly, and are dedicated to solving genuine problems with meticulous attention to detail.
Strong communication skills: You possess the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly and persuasively.

Preferred Qualifications

5+ years of extensive backend experience with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP), databases (Postgres/MySQL, DynamoDB, Spanner, etc.), APIs, and data pipelines (Airflow, Dagster, etc.).
Experience with modern PaaS solutions (Vercel, Netlify, or similar).
Familiarity with AI-native coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor).
Understanding of the healthcare domain (HIPAA, EPCS, PDMP, EHR/EMR systems).
