Role Overview Okta, Inc. is hiring a Lead and Senior Corporate Counsel for the APJ region, based in Sydney, Australia. This senior individual contributor role sits within Okta’s Commercial Legal team and focuses on supporting sales and professional services across Asia Pacific and Japan. The position centers on two main areas: working directly with Okta’s largest enterprise clients in the region and facilitating Okta’s growth in ASEAN countries and India. The role also involves mentoring junior legal team members and providing legal guidance for complex deals. What You Will Do Draft and negotiate outbound SaaS master subscription agreements and related commercial documents, including amendments, NDAs, and SOWs, for major strategic accounts, especially in regulated industries such as banking, finance, and healthcare, as well as clients in ASEAN and India. Act as the primary point of contact and escalation for the Senior Vice President and General Manager of the APJ region. Provide legal support and guidance to colleagues in the APJ Commercial Legal Team. Coordinate legal practices within the APJ Commercial Legal Team and with global counterparts. Deliver daily legal assistance and respond promptly to legal questions from sales and internal teams. Work closely with internal groups, including revenue recognition, deal desk, sales operations, privacy, and security, to ensure agreements comply with Okta policies and processes.
