● Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA preferred. ● Minimum of 5 years of experience in fund accounting or related financial roles, preferably in venture capital or private equity. ● Strong understanding of US GAAP and financial reporting standards. ● Proficient in financial software and tools, with advanced Excel skills. ● Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. ● Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

The Opportunity
Join NFX as a Fund Controller, where you will collaborate closely with our CFO to spearhead and expand the fund finance functions as we enhance our platform and grow our assets under management. You will be responsible for overseeing comprehensive fund accounting and reporting across our venture funds, while working in harmony with both internal teams and external service providers. Your role will also involve close collaboration with our Management Company (ManCo) Controller, ensuring robust controls and continuity in key workflows, thus providing a built-in second set of eyes while gaining extensive exposure to both fund and ManCo finance operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Leadership & Management
     Design and sustain a high-performing finance team with scalable, efficient processes.
     Serve as a strategic partner to the CFO, COO, General Counsel, and investment team.
Fund Accounting
     Oversee full-cycle US GAAP accounting and record-keeping for funds and related entities, including capital activity and partner allocations.
     Manage outsourced fund administrators, reviewing capital calls, distributions, quarterly closes/work papers, financial statements, and partner capital statements.
Valuations & Portfolio Reporting
     Facilitate the quarterly valuation and fair value process in collaboration with the investment team, ensuring thorough process management, documentation, and controls.
     Oversee the outsourced fund administrator's quarterly LP/GP reporting processes, including packages, NAV, IRR, MOIC, and other essential financial metrics.
     Assist in the preparation and review of ad-hoc analyses for fundraising and portfolio management.
