Role overview
This Generator Technician position is based in Princeton, New Jersey. The role centers on servicing and repairing commercial generators at cell phone tower sites throughout the region. It suits individuals who are self-motivated, willing to travel, and open to learning new skills.
What you will do
- Maintain and troubleshoot generators, replacing parts or entire systems and upgrading equipment as needed.
- Conduct regular maintenance and performance checks to ensure reliable generator operation. Interpret blueprints or design specifications for installation and repair work.
- Install fuel and water supply lines, pumps, electrical wiring, controls, and related components. Verify that all systems function as intended.
- Respond promptly to power or generator alarms. Remain available for on-call duties at all hours, communicating quickly via phone and email.
- Work safely around power supply equipment. Use appropriate safety gear, follow established safety protocols, and participate in all required safety and training meetings.
