Role overview
This Generator Technician role is based in the Fort Worth, Texas area and focuses on supporting commercial generators at cell phone tower sites. The position is best suited for technicians who work well independently, are self-motivated, and comfortable with frequent travel and fieldwork. Most assignments are within the Telecom sector.
Main responsibilities
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair generators, including installing and replacing components and systems.
- Perform upgrades on off-season equipment when required.
- Carry out performance checks and routine maintenance to ensure generators remain ready for service.
- Interpret blueprints and design specifications for installation and repair projects.
- Install fuel and water supply lines, pumps, electrical wiring, controls, and other generator components; test systems for proper operation.
- Respond to power or generator alarms, remain available for on-call work 24/7, and manage assigned communications in a timely manner.
- Work safely around power supply systems, use appropriate safety equipment, and follow established safety practices. Attend all required safety and training meetings.
