Established in 2010, Challenge Preparatory Charter School (Challenge Prep) has been dedicated to fostering academic success for students and families in Far Rockaway, Queens. Serving over 1,200 scholars from Kindergarten through 12th grade across three campuses, our mission is to empower students from the greater Far Rockaway community to excel academically, master the NY State Learning Standards, and achieve their career goals. Challenge is committed to cultivating the intellectual, aesthetic, social, emotional, and ethical development of our students, preparing them to become responsible citizens in the 21st century. To fulfill our mission, we provide a rigorous instructional program within a safe, supportive, technology-rich environment, complemented by authentic field experiences, career counseling, and college coursework. Role Overview
As an integral member of the Instructional Team at Challenge Charter Schools, you will play a vital role in ensuring our students are equipped with the skills and confidence to pursue their chosen paths, whether that leads to college, a career, or beyond. Our educators are dedicated advocates for our students and their families, striving to provide equitable access to opportunities. We are particularly focused on attracting and nurturing individuals who resonate with the life experiences of our students, as we believe the most impactful work stems from a deep understanding of our community's realities. In your role as a Teaching Assistant, you will assist in delivering outstanding instruction and evaluating student growth. Your commitment to continuous learning will empower you to provide both academic and cultural support within your school and team. We are looking for candidates who are on a path toward teacher certification.
