About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and hands-on Haptics Firmware Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing firmware and software for haptic and motion control systems, crafting exceptional interaction experiences. Responsibilities
Develop real-time firmware in C and C++ for motion and haptic systems.
Characterize actuator behavior and fine-tune controllers to ensure optimal feel and responsiveness.
Prototype early hardware to validate feel and timing, collaborating closely with product and industrial design teams to shape the final user experience.
Requirements
Minimum of 5 years of experience writing firmware for microcontrollers in C and C++.
Proven expertise in motor or actuator control, including techniques like PID, feed-forward, and FOC.
Strong hands-on skills with testing equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and bus traffic over I²C, SPI, or I²S.
Familiarity with Python or similar scripting languages for automation and data analysis.
Excellent written communication skills, enabling you to convey technical concepts to non-technical team members.
A keen sense of what makes haptic experiences compelling and enjoyable for users.
Bonus Qualifications
Understanding of DSP fundamentals including filtering, time-domain shaping, and perceptual modeling.
Experience with RTOS or comfort with bare-metal scheduling for real-time control loops.
Knowledge of low-power system design and associated measurement techniques.
Previous work on consumer products is a plus.
