About the Role
We are in search of a skilled Manufacturing Technician with a specialization in Soldering to assist in the assembly of mechanical prototypes, rework of miniaturized PCBs, and production of custom components. The ideal candidate will possess strong soldering and rework expertise, with R&D experience considered a valuable asset.
What You'll Do
Conduct assembly and subassembly tests in the lab.
Perform fine-pitch soldering and desoldering of surface-mount components (0201, BGAs) on PCBs.
Execute rework and modifications of intricate electronic assemblies based on engineering change orders (ECOs) and manufacturing requirements.
Assemble, modify, and accurately test mechanical prototypes and fixtures.
Design and prototype mechanical fixtures and tooling to facilitate assembly processes, collaborating closely with hardware engineers.
Inspect PCBs under magnification to detect solder defects and perform necessary repairs.
Requirements
3-5 years of practical experience in soldering and reworking electronic assemblies.
Proficient in handling fine-pitch components using microscopes and rework tools.
Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings, schematics, and rework instructions with a commitment to high-quality standards.
Demonstrated independence, flexibility, and resourcefulness.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Comfortable in a fast-paced startup environment and eager to contribute independently.
Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask across various teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with basic PCB layout or mechanical design for test fixtures.
Familiarity with Python scripting for automation purposes.
