HVM Field Process Engineer – Thermal ALD, Epitaxy, Vertical Diffusion
As an integral part of our Global Sales and Services division, you will be a key player in our Field Process Engineering team, acting as the on-site expert in process application to enhance performance and stability of our tools at client locations. You will focus on Thermal Atomic Layer Deposition (tALD), Epitaxy, or Diffusion, utilizing ASM’s advanced XP8 DCM/QCM, Intrepid, or Sonora platforms. Your role will involve optimizing deposition processes, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring tool performance aligns with both customer and ASM specifications. This position is ideal for engineers who thrive in hands-on problem-solving environments and are eager to contribute to the next generation of semiconductor manufacturing.
As a Field Process Engineer, you will be the primary interface with our customers, requiring excellent communication skills and a strong sense of responsibility. Ensuring customer satisfaction is a critical objective. Many engineers in this position advance into roles involving technical leadership, customer strategy, or product development. You’ll gain visibility across ASM’s global innovation teams and have access to cutting-edge R&D resources.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead on-site process qualification and optimization during tool installations and ramp-up phases.
- Ensure customer specifications are met through all project phases from installation to warranty.
- Conduct structured Design of Experiments (DOEs) to enhance film quality, uniformity, and production throughput.
- Diagnose process challenges through systematic root-cause analysis, implementing both short-term and long-term corrective measures to satisfy customer requirements.
- Collaborate with both customer and ASM teams to promote continuous improvement and consistency across tools.
- Maintain and develop relevant process documentation.
