You are:
The Identity and Access Management (IAM) Architect responsible for designing and implementing robust and compliant identity solutions for government entities. Your role includes modernizing outdated systems, crafting strategic roadmaps, and ensuring that all Identity, Credential, and Access Management (ICAM) architecture complies with federal standards such as the Federal ICAM Architecture (FICAM) and guidelines set by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). You will establish both cloud and on-premises security frameworks and architectures that align with business needs and performance objectives.
The work:
Document the deployment of cloud security controls and facilitate the transition to cloud security-managed operations. Develop enterprise-level architecture that meets agency security standards and modernization initiatives. This involves crafting frameworks for identity management, authentication, authorization, and managing the identity lifecycle (creation, maintenance, and deactivation). Collaborate with application owners and developers to integrate ICAM solutions into both new and existing applications across on-premises and cloud environments. This often includes migrating legacy systems and utilizing tools such as Okta, SailPoint, or CyberArk. Additionally, you will create technical standards, blueprints, and integration patterns to maintain consistency and quality across solutions.
