Role overview The Automation Technician I maintains, repairs, and enhances both robotic and non-robotic automated systems. Daily tasks may involve resistance welding (steel and aluminum), projection welding, MIG welding, robotic dispensing of body sealants and adhesives, drawn arc stud welding, flow drilling, and working with various rivet assembly equipment. Main responsibilities Interpret and update electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, ladder diagrams, and related technical documents. Diagnose and repair control systems using multi-meters, oscilloscopes, and other electrical testing tools. Troubleshoot electrical, robotic, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. Modify, create, and troubleshoot robotic programs as needed. Perform preventative maintenance and corrective actions, including problem-solving analysis and reporting. Adapt to changing priorities and use sound judgment in a manufacturing setting. Follow detailed written or verbal instructions accurately. Maintain clean and organized personal and shared work areas.
