Key ResponsibilitiesLead the comprehensive technical onboarding process for numerous accounts, maintaining a steadfast commitment to ensuring customers achieve Time To Value (TTV) in less than 30 days. Offer hands-on support for technical configurations, including Identity Provider (IdP) integration, Tailnet administration, ACL policy creation, and Mobile Device Management (MDM) deployments. Collaborate closely with Account Executives (AEs) and Sales Engineers (SEs) to assimilate technical requirements from the pre-sales phase, guaranteeing a smooth transition to active usage. Serve as a vital feedback channel for Product and Engineering teams by highlighting recurring challenges or bugs encountered during the onboarding process and advocating for timely resolutions. Uphold stringent data hygiene within sales (SFDC) and Customer Success Platform (CSP) tools to ensure transparency regarding onboarding completion rates, TTV, and overall customer health metrics. Facilitate a seamless transition to Support and Post-sales teams by ensuring clean handoffs once adoption milestones are reached. Establish and refine metrics for onboarding success, including developing post-onboarding surveys and in-product adoption targets.

Job Description

As an Implementation Engineer (IE) at Tailscale, you will be the key architect of our customers’ initial experience with our product. Reporting to the Customer Success Engineering Team Lead, you will operate at the nexus of Pre-sales, Support, and Product, focusing on delivering value to our customers. You will oversee a substantial number of accounts across both commercial and enterprise segments, guiding them through the crucial first 30 days of their journey with Tailscale. This role is highly impactful and technical, ideal for someone who possesses intellectual curiosity, empathy, robust networking fundamentals, and a dedication to aiding customers in overcoming intricate connectivity and security challenges. Your aim will be to ensure that Tailscale becomes a vital component of our clients’ infrastructure from day one.
