Role Overview The Infrastructure Engineer will join the Cloud Infra team, which supports Product Engineers as they build and ship new technology. This senior individual contributor position (roughly level 5) is hands-on and offers the chance to shape infrastructure scalability as the team shifts from enablement to direct execution. The role involves working with cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, observability, and internal tooling. Expect to spot and fix bottlenecks as Synthesia continues to expand its AI capabilities. What You Will Do Manage and optimize Kubernetes (EKS) clusters, including deployments, workloads, and production monitoring. Oversee AWS and some GCP cloud environments, balancing reliability, cost, and speed of deployment. Take responsibility for CI/CD systems using GitHub Actions on self-hosted AWS runners, driving ongoing improvements. Apply Infrastructure as Code practices with Terraform and Terragrunt. Improve observability with Datadog to give teams insight into production systems. Work closely with Product Engineers to deploy and monitor production services. Lead FinOps work, including vendor management, cost allocation, and building financial feedback loops. Contribute to internal tooling, automation, and reporting platforms to enhance developer experience. What We Look For Solid background in cloud infrastructure management, especially with AWS and Kubernetes. Experience with CI/CD practices and tools. Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools.
